Cemetery Happenings

An early spring has brought about the need to begin mowing in March this year, a little earlier than usual. We currently have three men working, and will be adding at least two more for the spring to fall mowing season. Under ideal conditions, it takes two full weeks to mow and trim the entire cemetery one time, at an estimated cost of $5000 for each time through.

Over the last few years, the cemetery has lost several trees to time and the elements, many of them likely over 100 years old. We have begun a concentrated effort to plant new trees, for future generations to enjoy, and as of spring of 2026 have planted about 15 new trees, most of them sponsored by our donors. If you would like to sponsor the planting of a tree, in honor or in memory of someone, please contact the cemetery for information in how to go about giving this gift to the future.
